First I thought it was a mic issue so I bought a Behringer C-1 (wanted a new mic for a while now) but nothing happened and the little LED on the C-1 didn't light up despite phantom power being on and the 48v light on the UM2 being lit up. Some time later it started working again and the light on the C-1 came on and it was working like it should. Trying for the first time the Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 audio interface. I tested the recording with my guitar. I still do not have a microphone to test tha.
