In order to use the advanced features of Deskovery (Wobbly, transparent and floating windows) you need to install a plugin (called DInjector.osax in /System/Library/ScriptingAdditions/ This directory is protected by SIP which need to be desactivated during installation. It can then be reactivated once it is done. Disabling SIP for a minimal duration has nearly no risk but it has to be your decision. Without installing this plugin, you can continue to use all the other features of Deskovery.

Disabling SIP

You need to boot to the Recovery Partition. In order to do that, press Cmd + R until being able to see the Apple Logo. Start the terminal by clicking in the right option in the top menu. In the terminal enter: csrutil disable and press enter then reboot your mac

Installing Deskovery Plugin

1. Start Deskovery
2. Click on the menu bar icon and then choose the Preferences menu option
3. Go to Advanced tab
4. Check that SIP is deactivated
5. Click on the Install Plugin Button
6. A popup should appear asking you to enter your administrator password. This is required when you want to write to /System/Library/ScriptingAdditions/
7. After waiting for file copy, A new popup should appear informing you about the status of the installation.

You can now use Deskovery and all its features

Reactivating SIP follow a process similar to the deactivation. Reboot your mac, press Cmd + R until being able to see the Apple Logo. Start the terminal by clicking in the right option in the top menu. In the terminal enter: csrutil clear
